Orthogonal Distance Fit of a Pyramid (Geodäsie/Vermessung)

Hi,

Can I ask what do you mean by "restriction"? For each plane you used two restrictions.

The first restriction normalizes the normal vector n of the plane. If you don't normalize the vector, the estimation will failed, because n is not unique. A vector [1 2 3]' is equal to [2 4 6]'. The lengths are changed but the directions are equal to each other.

The second restriction force the apex into the plane. This restriction is specific to your pyramid-problem.

regards
Micha
